"Booked a show in York for my partner's birthday and booked Primrose Lodge to stay for the night. Couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay, it was just perfect!! Beautiful lodge and every detail and wish catered for. Great tea and coffee facilities, biscuits and bottled water too. Complimentary coffee and chocolate cake on arrival delivered to our door. Breakfast great and cooked to order. Can't express how nice this place was; highly recommended would stay every weekend if i could!!!"

"How does the saying go? If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Usually, unless you are talking about Primrose Lodge. It struck us that Deborah gathered together all the things that make hotels or B&B's not too good, turn them on their heads and introduce them at Primrose Lodge.
It was the little things that made our stay here excellent. Being greeted upon arrival with slices of cake, tea and coffee with fresh milk brought that personal touch to things.
This establishment is half way through a full refurbishment. if the room we stayed in is going to be anything to go by the end result will be fantastic. The room was clean, fresh, well decorated and modern. A wide range of tea, coffee and sugar was readily available. A full size kettle and mugs. Yes, full size mugs not your 2 sips and it's gone cups! The bed was comfortable and the room was more than warm enough through the night.
Breakfast was excellent everything from cereal to the full monty. Well cooked, ample servings and piping hot. All served in a fast, friendly and efficient manner. Want somewhere to stay when visiting York or the surrounding area? Look no further than Primrose Lodge."

"We have 3 children and usually struggle to find accommodation for the 5 of us. Not a problem at Primrose Lodge! We were welcomed by the owner with home made chocolate cake and hot drinks! The owner is a lovely lady and very helpful. Our room, the family en suite, was clean, spacious and really well planned out with a double bed and 3 single beds. The owner booked a table for our evening meal at a local pub and when we arrived back, she had put some toys and books in our room to entertain the children!
We had a really nice stay, finished off with a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. We feel this is a really nice, attentive, friendly family run b&b and will definitely be back to stay in the future!"

"I booked at very short notice and arrived at about 9pm. I was warmly greeted and offered a hot drink and a slice of chocolate cake, both were excellent. The room had been recently refitted and decorated to a very high standard. It was warm, bright, spacious and comfortable. The impression was of a five star hotel room. Breakfast was to the same high standard, the home made jams and marmalades are a real treat and the view from the window during breakfast was magical on a frosty morning from inside a snug dining room."

"Stayed for two nights over the 2014 New Year period. In a nutshell, it was the best B & B we have ever stayed in. Hospitality was excellent, breakfasts were tasty and plentiful and the accommodation was of an immaculate standard. I highly recommend staying here if you wish to stay in charming surroundings with charming people at a central base to visit all the local attractions around the York area. Much better value in terms of cost and facilities than hotels of a similar standard. You will not be disappointed. We will be visiting again soon."

Lovely family room, very spacious and the décor was fresh and modern. Breakfast was first class, with a great choice on offer including the obligatory full English. The hosts make this place and we will return for another York break next year."

My partner and a a friend went to visit York and stayed here at the Prime Rose. It was the best place I stayed while visiting the UK. We are from Rochester, NY, USA. The owner is so sweet and very help full telling us different places to see and things to do in York area. The full English breakfast was great. This was the first time I every had blood pudding and it was good. We loved the snack she gave us when we arrived. It has just been the best time we had in the UK. Thanks again for a very nice stay and the dinner we had at the pub the night we arrived was great also. We will be back again when we visit the UK.

I highly recommend Primrose Lodge as Deborah is very welcoming, even bringing us some chocolate cake after arriving.
Breakfast is lovely, not rushed with nice surroundings. The room is very comfortable and best of all, ample car parking off road.

On our second day, we arrived back to the B&B and we had fun size mars bars on our pillow. It's just a really nice touch.

Finally, Deborah is the perfect host as she's very happy to offer advice on where to eat and what attractions are nearby including knowledge of any discounts that may be available.

Will definitely stay here again.

A weekend meet up with a dear friend. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Primrose Lodge really is home from home with every little luxury thought of. Immaculate room, comfortable beds, very warm welcome and the freshly made breakfast was the best. Quiet and really picturesque location, yet extremely easy to access the city centre. We couldn't fault our stay and I'm already planning on returning with the family and I can't wait. Well done Primrose Lodge!!!

We chose Primrose Lodge to meet and stay and catch up with friends from SA, we couldn't have chosen better. From being greeted by Debbie with tea and cake to the spacious and beautifully furnished rooms, to the more than adequate breakfasts, especially home made bread and lots of jams also home made. Our rooms had teas, coffees, hot chocolate, cookies and bottled water. I especially liked the chocolate left on our pillows every night. Could easily give some of the York hotels a bit of competition. Debbie also knows the area well and we followed her suggestions to make the most of our stay. And the dog is a real beauty
